I was fortunate to receive Henri Cartier-Bresson’s incredible book The Decisive Moment as a gift and it has held me spell-bound since I opened it Christmas day. I feel a profound sense of awe when I look at these pictures. Cartier-Bresson’s idea of the decisive moment— that formal peak moment in which all elements in a photographic frame accumulate at a precise moment to form the perfect image—has guided and inspired the photographs I make. I remember first seeing these images years ago when my career began and they changed my life. This is a book that every photographer should own.
